The college programs represented at the WOMEN'S World Box Lacrosse Championships

For the first time, there is a Women’s Box Lacrosse Championship being played. It’s happening concurrently with the men’s competition, and also being held in Utica. The highlights from the games have been outstanding. Crease dives, shifty dodges, well designed offense, and because it wouldn’t be complete without one, some lasers from Charlotte North. All signs point to a USA vs Canada match up for the gold, but the Haudenosaunee are talented and could be spoilers. While many of the other nations competing are a step below the heavyweight US and Canadian teams, the games have still been electric. Ireland and Germany played a one goal thriller, as did the Netherlands and Hong Kong.

Just like on the men’s side, the women’s teams feature talented players from the college ranks, from levels all the way up to DI lacrosse. All told, more than sixty different schools are represented on the rosters of the ten competing countries. Nation by nation, here are where these talented competitors played, or are playing, in college now. As with the men, this data comes from what’s provided by teams on the World Lacrosse Championships rosters, and it may be incomplete in terms of total college career. Some men’s players who attended more than one school but only listed one, some only list their current club affiliation but maybe not where they played in school. If there are players missing that you know of but should be here, please reach out and I’ll update the rosters.
