One Sentence Gambling Trends for Every Team

April is on the doorstep. Conference play has arrived. Stakes are rising. And by now, just about everyone has played enough games for us to see some trends. Everyone has a tendency. I boiled it down to just one sentence (sometimes two) for you. Happy handicapping.

Air Force – As a favorite, they win and don’t cover. Falcons are 4-1 when favored but covered just one time.


Albany – They do what the line says. As an underdog they are 0-5. As a favorite, 2-0.


Army – The Black Knights have covered in six of their last seven, and won all seven. They’ve only been an underdog once all year, and won outright against Rutgers

Bellarmine – When they’re favored, they’re invincible. 5-0 with five covers as a favorite.


Binghamton – Take them when they’re the dog. Three games as a dog, three covers, two outright wins.


Boston U – Both times they’ve been an underdog they’ve won outright. They have yet to lose at home.


Brown – Three games before suspension, they were 3-0 outright and against the spread. They won their first game with their seniors back as an underdog.


Bryant – They’ve been favored in seven of their eight games. They’re 6-1 in those games but covered just three times.


Bucknell – The Bison have covered as a dog and gone over in each of their last three games.


Canisius – One of the few teams that has yet to be a favorite this year. 5-4 against the spread despite a 2-7 record.


Cleveland State – Has alternated between going over and under every game this year. They went under last game.


Colgate – They’ve been favored in three games and didn’t win any of those games. They’ve also gone under in four of six games.


Cornell – Underdog just once, and blew out Yale in that game. 5-2 against the spread, one of the hottest teams in the country.


Dartmouth – Green darlings right now, and great underdogs. They have a 3-1 straight up record as an underdog.


Delaware – The Hens have yet to hit an over on the road this year.


Denver – They’ve been an underdog four times and covered all four times, with two outright wins.


Detroit Mercy – Winless, and the only team to have TWO pushes this year.


Drexel – Failed to cover in their first five, but have now covered in each of their last three games, including two outright wins as a dog.


Duke – They went over in six of their first seven but have now hit the under in each of their last three. They’ve been an underdog just once all year.


Fairfield – Low totals for the Stags. They’ve gone under in seven of nine games this year.


Georgetown – Lost their first three and have won four straight, but still own just a 2-5 record ATS.


Hampton – Winless, but also 3-3 ATS. Under in three of their last four.


Harvard – Haven’t covered since March 4th against UVM. Caveat, Harvard vs Brown wasn’t offered on DraftKings.


High Point – Goals. Lots of goals. Over in seven of their nine games where a total was offered. They are undefeated as a favorite and covered in three of five of those games.


Hobart – Under in five of their last six.


Hofstra – They haven’t won, covered, or hit the over in any of their last four games.


Holy Cross – Winless at 0-9, but 5-4 against the spread. All five covers came as an underdog.

Jacksonville – Wins but doesn’t cover. They’ve won seven in a row, but covered just three times in eight games this year.


Johns Hopkins – In their last six games they have lost once and failed to cover once. When they are favored, they are 4-0 and covered twice.


Lafayette – Covered five times in eight games as an underdog, including each of their last two.


Lehigh – Over in six of their eight games.


Lindenwood – 1-4 overall, but 4-1 against the spread and have covered in four straight, going over in their last three.


LIU – Over in their last three games and going under in their previous four. As an underdog, LIU is winless straight up.


Loyola – Just 2-6 against the spread and hasn’t covered since February 18th win over Hopkins.


Manhattan – A perfect 5-0 as a favorite with three covers, and hit the under in six of eight games.


Marist – Over in six of eight games, but just 2-6 against the spread.


Marquette – They haven’t hit the over since February 15th against Notre Dame. It’s the under in each of their last five games, and four of those games are wins.


Maryland – Just 3-5 against the spread. They were an underdog once all year, and won outright against UVA.


Mercy – 3-0-1 against the spread in their last four, and hit the over in each of their last three.

Merrimack – A regression occurring? In their first six games, they were 5-1 ATS and 4-2 overall, going over four times. They have lost, failed to cover, and gone under in their last two games.


Michigan – Over in six of eight games, including in each of their last four.


Monmouth – 6-2 against the spread, with one of those losses being by the hook. A perfect 3-0 with three covers as favorites.


Mount Saint Mary’s – Low totals for the Mount. They've had a total of 20.5 or less six times, and hit the under in four of them.


Navy – Just 3-7 against the spread, including being winless straight up as an underdog. They lost six straight between their Hofstra win and their Holy Cross win last week.


NJIT – 5-3 against the spread but 2-6 overall. They’ve also hit the over in six of eight games.

North Carolina – Have alternated between over and under in each of their last seven games, going over against Providence most recently.


Notre Dame – Covered in all three road games they’ve played.


Ohio State – Just 3-5-1 against the spread. Played three road games, lost all three.


Penn – Just 2-5 against the spread. They have yet to cover as a favorite, and are 1-3 straight up in games where they are favored.


Penn State – The Nitts have gone under in five straight. They’ve been an underdog four times, covered all four, and won outright three.


Princeton – Plays eight games at home. Which is good, because they’ve lost their only two road games so far.


Providence – The biggest spread they've covered is 4.5 against Siena. In four games with a spread that large or bigger, they've failed to cover as either a favorite or underdog.


Queens – Hit the over in each of their last three, but have lost and failed to cover in each of their last four.


Quinnipiac – Hit the over in five of seven games.


Richmond – Gone over in six of eight games. When they are favored, they’re 5-0 straight up, but only have covered twice.


Robert Morris – Under in every game but one. When favored Bobby Mo is 3-0 straight up, covering twice.


Rutgers – 7-2 overall, but just 4-5 against the spread. They’ve been favored in eight games this year and covered in just three.


Sacred Heart – They’ve covered in three of their last four, and gone under in seven of eight games this year. (I’m missing data from VMI/SHU)


Saint Joseph’s – After going over in five of their first six, Hawks have gone under in their last two. They’ve also lost four of their last five.


Siena – Over hit in five of seven games. They have three wins, all three came at home.


St Bonaventure – Hit the under in four of their last five. Haven’t hit double digit goals since Feb 25th.


St John’s – Winless, but 6-3 against the spread, and an underdog in all nine games.


Stony Brook – Hit the over in six of nine games. As a favorite they are 4-1 straight up with three covers.


Syracuse – They’ve been an underdog twice, losing but covering both times. They’ve also covered and won three straight.


Towson – Under in five of eight games. They’ve been an underdog four times and lost each time, covering twice.


UMass – Under in seven of eight games, and have given up double digit goals just three times.


UMass Lowell – Winless and an underdog in all seven games. Hit the under five times. Both covers game on double digit spreads.


UMBC – Started hot, winning and covering in four straight. Since then, they’ve covered just once in four games. As a favorite they are 4-0 with three covers.


Utah – Covered in six straight games, and are 6-1 ATS this year, one of the best marks in DI. 0-4 straight up as a dog with three covers, 3-0 as a favorite with three covers.


Vermont – Covered just once in their last six games. Hit the under in three of their last four.


Villanova – Hit the under in seven of nine games this year. One of the two overs they hit was by the hook.


UVA – 7-1, but just 3-5 against the spread. They have gone over in five of eight games.


VMI – Over in all of their last six games (missing data for their last game, the six prior).


Wagner – Under in five of seven games with available totals. Just 2-6 against the spread this season.


Yale – 3-3 overall, and 2-4 ATS. They’ve only been an underdog once, and lost. Over hit in four of their six games.
